This palace was built in 1896 for sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum, the grandfather of the current emir. It has over thirty rooms and twenty verandas and it partially looks out over the Creek. It is built with traditional techniques and materials, which keeps it nice and cool during the scorching heat. Nowadays it’s a museum with a beautiful collection of historic photos and documents about Dubai.
