Art of Living International Centre

Art of Living, founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is an educational, humanitarian non-profit organisation, that focuses on stress management and service projects. It is active in 152 countries. This means that people all over the world can participate in their meditation and breathing courses. The international headquarters in Bangalore has a huge campus but also invites you to pay a single visit. The main meditation space, Vishalakshi mantap, is an oasis of tranquillity. There’re also an ayurvedic diagnostic and treatment centre. The ashram tour for visitors shows you around the ayurvedic hospital, the children’s school and their organic farming projects, the goshala (barn) with cows and the beautiful gardens. There’s also a shop where you can buy books, dvd’s and cd’s, ayurvedic medicine, bags, clothes and more. Cafe Vishala is a good place for a bite to eat.
