Alamo Square and the ‘painted ladies’

Alamo Square is a residential neighbourhood in the Western part of San Francisco. Because of its geographical position on a hilltop, the neighbourhood offers fantastic views of the city. The neighbourhood got some fame through the seven colourful Victorian brownstones on the Eastern side Alamo Square Park. The seven houses are known as the Painted Ladies, because many of them are multi-coloured. They are also feature in the intro of the comedy series Full House. Don’t expect to only one there: it’s one of the most photographed streets in San Francisco.
