Udaipur

Udaipur is seen as India’s most romantic city. With its location on the shimmering Pichola lake, with a backdrop of wooded hills, it’s not hard to see why. Nowadays, romance is somewhat overshadowed by the multitude of tourists, but there’s still plenty of spots to quietly enjoy the city’s beauty.

The City Palace is the largest palace in Rajasthan, its facade being 244 meters long and 30 meters high. Inside you’ll find the City Palace Museum, with extravagantly decorated rooms full of paintings, tiles and mirrors. Take a boat ride around the lake, past the island of Jagniwas. It houses the world famous Lake Palace hotel, where parts of the James Bond classic Octopussy were filmed. Disembark at the island Jagmandir, wander around and observe the lake and Udaipur from a different angle.
