Floating market
A floating market doesn't have traditional market stalls; the goods are sold from flat boats. Damnoen Saduak is the biggest and busiest floating market, about a hundred kilometers from Bangkok. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Bangkok. During the day the market is swarming with tourists who come on a day trip from Bangkok. If you're looking for something more authentic atmosphere, it pays off to go there the night before. That way you can visit the market very early in the morning, before the hordes of day trippers arrive.
