This enormous bazalt arch is 26 meters high and stands on the Southern shore of Mumbai. It was erected to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911, although it wasn’t finished until 1924. The Gateway of India is built in Indo-Saracenic style and is located close to the famous Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel.
