The most famous Brusselian is undoubtedly Manneken Pis (le Petit Julien). The peeing little man is great in terms of fame but small in stature: he is only 58 cm tall. The original statue was made in 1619, commissioned by the Brussels city council. It was stolen a few times and destroyed in 1817. Based on the remaining fragments they made a mould, so that the current figurine is a cast of the original. It is a Brussels tradition to dress up Manneken Pis. In the Museum of the City of Brussels you will find more than 700 of his costumes.
Address: Manneken Pis is on the corner of the Eikstraat and the Stoofstraat.
