The Avala Tower is a 671 feet tall telecommunications tower, located on the Avala mountain on the outskirts of Belgrade. The original tower dating from 1965 was destroyed by the NATO bombing of Serbia on 29 April 1999. The reconstructed Avala Tower was officially opened at a ceremony on 21 April 2010. It is currently the tallest tower in the Balkans. In the top there is a restaurant, offering magnificent views of the surroundings. Close by you will find the monument of the unknown soldier.
