Wat Pho

Wat Pho is the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok. There're more than a thousand Buddhas, spread out over eight hectares. The main attraction is the giant statue of the reclining Buddha. This Buddha is no less than 46 meters long and 15 meters tall and completely gilded and the eyes and feet are inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The reclining Buddha represents the transition of the Buddha into Nirvana. Wat Pho is also the national headquarters for traditional Thai medicine and massage. Old recipes of medicines are kept here, and it is one of the earliest massage schools.
