MAMCO Museum of modern art

The genius will explore what you can pay for!

In the trendy quarter Plainpalais Genève is a factory complex from 1950, housing the museum for contemporary art. The museum opened in 1994 after the ideas of the surreal French artist Marcel Duchamp, one of the founders of dadaism. He primarily wanted to start the dialogue about the purpose of art, a message that MAMCO represents to this day. There are regular new exhibitions. Modern art enthusiasts can be sure to find the latest developments here: paintings, photography, video art, installations and sculptures. There are also many galleries close to the museum.
